When working with complex, figure-heavy documents, big brochures, manuals, or any other document type that requires some graphic design know-how on top of the translation itself, you need professionals that have their own software tools and know how to use them to their full potential. At VERBA, we have all the necessary tools for document conversion and graphic design.

Software can recognize characters in scanned documents or images and convert them into standard ASCII or Unicode system codes. Sometimes, however, specific features of the language or particular file formats cause unsatisfactory conversion results. This is where our VERBA team jumps in, using advanced software options to make sure that the final document is as similar as possible to the original.

Correct graphic design can even help prevent potential errors in translation.

When you entrust us with your translation material, the first thing we do is carefully prepare the files for translation. Benjamin Franklin once said: “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” We believe the same is true for translations.

FIELDS OF SPECIALISATION

We translate more than 20 million words in more that 2,000 translation projects a year! There is almost no area of expertise or type of text we have not come across. However, as other areas of expertise have their own specialists, so do we. Every project is assigned to specialists who are qualified in a particular domain and have experience in similar projects.

The main areas we cover are life science (IFUs for medical devices, medical records, pharmaceutical texts), IT, technical and engineering (user manuals for industrial machines), automotive (service documentation and marketing), marketing, HR, and legal texts.

OUR IN-HOUSE TEAM

Our in-house team consists of some 30 university graduates in translation and a vendor pool for the South Slavic and Eastern European Languages which includes more than 150 graduates in law, engineering, medicine, and other areas. Moreover, the qualifications of our translators, proofreaders, and project managers meet the requirements set forth by the ISO 17100:2015 standard. Among other things, this means we work only with competent and vetted native speakers. Our experienced project managers will put together a team that best suits your business or personal needs.

MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

Medicine and medical technology are our main areas of specialisation. For these areas, we have specially developed workflows and a dedicated department with a team of translators, revisers, proofreaders, medical experts, and project managers. They have the necessary knowledge and experience to ensure that all our services comply with rigorous client requirements and to avoid consequential damages which can arise when very sensitive and demanding projects are on the table.

CAT tools

Our team members are proficient in almost any commercial CAT tool and proprietary tool of our clients. We enjoy testing and mastering new tools. We always strive to be ahead of the technology curve and offer our linguists training and support in using the most diverse tools.

We at VERBA have licences for all our linguists and project managers for the following CAT tools:

Trados Studio (all versions), memoQ (Server), Across Language Server v.7, Memsource/Phrase.

Some other tools we work with: XTM, Smartling, Transit, etc.

QUALITY CERTIFICATES

To ensure the highest quality of our translation services, revision, and certification (court interpreting) services, as well as other related services, we put in place a quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 standards.

Our system was accredited by the independent certification body, Bureau Veritas, which also carries out regular audits to make sure all ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 requirements have been met at VERBA CENTAR d.o.o.

VERBA’s quality management system has been implemented in our translation processes since 2009.

IN-HOUSE QUALITY ASSURANCE

Good quality never happens by chance and it is our main business goal. That is why our projects go through all phases of our in-house quality assurance and risk management program.

Our in-house quality assurance team primarily focusses on:
