In some cases, institutions or companies require a translation to be certified with the signature and seal of a sworn translator. 

A sworn translator is a court-appointed translator who certifies that a translation is true and accurate with his or her signature and seal, then binds the original text and the translation together with tricolor thread. Court-certified translators in the Republic of Croatia are appointed by the competent county court.

You can easily order a certified translation from VERBA – simply send us a scanned copy of the source document so we can assess the time and cost of translation. The court-certified translator will make a certified translation based on the scanned copy and will bind the translation together with a copy of the original or the original document itself, depending on your wishes and project requirements.

Certified translations can be delivered via e-mail as scanned documents and/or via mail or courier to any address.

Every translation can be certified by a certified translator’s signature and seal, but whether or not you need it will depend on the requirements of the institution or company to which the translations are submitted. 

Documents that most often require certified translations are tender documentation, declarations of conformity, certificates, personal documents, contracts, court decisions, and other legal documentation, as well as other documents required for conducting business or fulfilling regulatory or legal purposes.

The appearance of a certified translation is prescribed by the current Ordinance on Standing Court Interpreters, issued by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration of the Republic of Croatia.
